On Friday, the Northwest Florida Daily News will unveil its 2008 football tab.
The award-winning product will be a 32-page compilation of stories and information about all 10 high school football teams in our coverage area.
Our prep coverage in the tab offers all of the comprehensive information it has over the years with team information, schedules, player profiles, projected starting lineups and a breakdown of each position.
It also includes the Dandy Dozen, which is the Daily News' selection of the top 12 players in the area. They will be featured in the center of the tab with a two-page spread.
And while all that and more is included in the print edition of the tab, this year's tab will be supplemented even more online at www.nwfvarsity.com.
On our Web site, which is dedicated solely to prep sports, we will have additional team previews. Also, last year we added stories about each member of the Dandy Dozen on the internet.
This year we are taking it a step further, and will release two members of the Dandy Dozen each day - starting today - leading up to the release of the tab. The stories can be found at the Football 2008 tab under Boys Sports Football.
It is a step we are taking not only to build excitement for the tab, but also to preview the type of additional coverage we will be offering on the Web site throughout the year.
Unlike years past, the tab will not include anything on professional football or college, but that information will instead come out in our daily product. This change was made because of the size of the tab, and the staff not wanting to short any information on our local coverage.
